Dressing Up In Renaissance Dress

To be quite honest, even grown-up women love dressing up in renaissance dress. For instance, have you ever attended a Renaissance Faire and observed the populace dressed up in medieval clothing and renaissance dresses? If you have, you have more than likely taken a look through the renaissance dress shops there. If you're curious about the terminology that I am using, it comes from going to Renaissance Faires. I say mundane, because that is what a person that is not in renaissance dress is called.

They do not use the term costume either when referring to the medieval clothing and renaissance dress, it is called garb. It is also an interesting little factoid that half of the people that you see at renaissance faires do not work for the faire, they are average, everyday people dressed up in renaissance dress and medieval clothing to celebrate and take part in the ambiance of the era.

One of the biggest reasons that so many people are attracted to medieval clothing and renaissance dress is because of their era in time. It is a time in history when radical changes were taking place. If you ever get a chance to attend a renaissance faire, go for it! When else will you have the opportunity to truly be Queen for the day and gorgeous in your renaissance dress? Why not go as the saucy wench or the elegant medieval maid? That's the beauty of these renaissance faires and renaissance dresses; you can be whomever you desire.

Word of warning ladies! Before you strap on that corset remember to take a big, deep breath. Those Renaissance ladies were not naturally small waisted, oh no. So make your renaissance dress comfortable.
