In the 15th Century, most knights were covered with steel plates. At the beginning of the century, these plates were often worn over chain mail, to be worn over a layer of padding. The defense was directly connected to the padding underneath. The knights actually hold a high level of skills in manueverability in his armor. However, the armor was extremely heavy and warriors could quickly fatigue. Also, the helmet, which is usually a single valve, in order to deal with the limited vision.

Unlike the knights of the last century, during this time, the sign was unusual. Progress in the knights' defense forced the heavy weapons, often in the two hands, so that the shield was, and probably for use in tournaments.
